New iPhone App for Local Realtors

The creator of the popular "30A" iPhone app and website announced a new mobile product today that's designed to keep home buyers and real estate agents in touch.

"Real Estate Touch" is a fast and inexpensive way for real estate agents to create a custom iPhone app, complete with their personal photo and contact information.

"Buyers can now access real-time property listings on their phone, while they're actually out looking for homes in a community or neighborhood," said Mike Ragsdale of Real Estate Touch, LLC. "The app automatically displays properties that are closest to their current GPS location, and then users can browse photos and details about any home that interests them. No more hopping out of a car to pull a damp, outdated sales flier out of a plastic bin."

In addition to comprehensive MLS property listings which are displayed on a real-time GPS map, users can also search by neighborhood, property type, square footage, price range and more. Ragsdale said that a key benefit for the real estate agent is that every single property listing features their own personal contact information, rather than the listing agent's.

"It's like buyers having the real estate agent on speed-dial," said Ragsdale. "The Realtor's face and contact info is right on the buyer's phone. Almost every Realtor has a personal website, and we believe that every agent needs their own mobile app to reach prospects during that critical time -- when they're actually out house-hunting."

Several real estate agents have already signed-up for their own custom iPhone app, which costs as little as $29 per month, said Ragsdale. Ragsdale said that the low monthly cost is an introductory price that is likely to increase as more users sign-up, but that new users can lock-in their monthly rate for 3 years. The apps are always free for users to download through Apple's App Store, which can be accessed on iTunes or using any iPhone.

"My clients are blown away when I invite them to download my iPhone app," said Tommy Brantley of Beach Properties of Florida. "It really gives my clients the exact info that they need, when they need it, right in their hands. It's a very powerful sales tool."

Ragsdale said that once a real estate agent has their own iPhone app, they can promote it on their Facebook page, their website, on business cards and in their email signature lines. "The more people who download a Realtor's app, the more phone calls and emails they'll ultimately receive," said Ragsdale. "The key is getting your app out there before everyone else. There's a very real first-mover opportunity at stake."

Ragsdale noted that similar versions of the product are already in development for other mobile platforms, possibly including Blackberry, Google Android and Apple's new iPad product.

"We're rolling out the iPhone product here in Florida's panhandle over the next few weeks, but are quickly expanding into numerous other national markets," said Ragsdale. "This is an opportunity for local real estate agents to be among the very first real estate agents in the nation to have a personal iPhone app that's specifically designed to grow their business and build stronger client relationships."
